Teens at Whisk – Fend For Yourself Dinners – 5 Day Camp

This 5-day camp is designed for teens, ages 13 and up.

MONDAY, August 7th To FRIDAY, August 11th
FROM 2:00PM – 4:00PM Each Day

Have you ever wanted to make your family a 3-course dinner? Like really make dinner on your own? Join Chef Lee Baker for this 5-day hands on camp where you’ll practice all kinds of kitchen skills while you prepare 5-days of dinners including sides and desserts. Each day will present a new menu with a new protein and techniques galore. You’ll learn made-from-scratch recipes and how to use some grocery store items to streamline the cooking process.

Monday –  Fiesta Night
Skirt Steak Fajitas with grilled peppers and onions, Guacamole, Mexican Rice and Beans, Watermelon Agua Fresca, and Baked Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips

Tuesday – Impressive Past
Handmade Fresh Pasta with Creamy Chicken Alfredo, Antipasto Salad, and Lemon Ricotta Cookies

Wednesday – A Sub Above
Meatball Subs with Tomato Sauce & Provolone Cheese, Fried Zucchini Chips, and Flourless Chocolate Cake

Thursday – Breakfast for Dinner
French Style Omelette with a choice of fillings, Homemade Chicken and Apple Sausage Patties, Hash Browns, Glazed Blueberry Scones

Friday – Fish Bake
Salmon en Papillote with Cherry Tomatoes & Fresh Corn, Smashed Baby Potatoes, and Strawberry Meringue Cake

Kids in the Kitchen – Paris Sweets-Pastries, Confections & Crepes – 5 Day Camp

This 5 day camp is designed for kids 8-12 years old.

MONDAY, August 14th – FRIDAY, August 18th

FROM 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Everyday

Whether your child already enjoys baking or is interested in learning how to make delicious French pastries, this week-long session is the perfect match. During this hands-on week, Chef Lee Baker will creatively teach your child all the tricks and techniques needed to turn out a boisseau of pastries. Each day your child will make different French treats which they will sample in class and then bring the rest home to share. Your child will make the following each day!

This 5-day camp is designed for kids, ages 8 to 12.

MONDAY, August 21st to FRIDAY, August 25th

FROM 10:00AM – 12:00PM

Join Chef Lee Baker and spend a week like you are in Italy! We’ll start off this week-long cooking camp making pasta and end it with a pizza party, making a lot of Italian favorites in between.  Each class will give students instruction and practice with various skills and techniques such as using knives correctly to slice, dice and chiffonade; using the stove to simmer & sauté; using a scale to create perfect pasta dough – and how to roll, cut and fill that dough. Additionally, students will learn the advantages of planning ahead for cooking success!

In this week-long camp, Chef Lee Baker will inspire your child to experience foods from some of the greatest cities in Europe.  We will learn a bit about each city, explore the different ingredients and flavor profiles that make each city distinct and cook up delicious recipes from the “City of the Day.”  Our skilled culinary team will assist each day as your teen practices knife skills and becomes familiar with everyday kitchen equipment.  Pack your food passport and experience a different destination city daily.

Monday: Paris
On our trip to Paris, we will make several dishes that are synonymous with the French:

Quiche Lorraine, Green Salad with French Dressing and Madeleines

Next we’ll take a trip to Germany, making three very traditional German dishes:

Our last stop is London for some traditional English foods:

Fish and Chips, Coleslaw and Hobnob Cookies (made with both rolled oats & jumbo oats)

Kids in the Kitchen – 1 Day St. Paddy’s Day Cooking Adventure

This class is designed for kids 8-12 years old.

Did you know in Ireland they don’t eat corned beef and cabbage for St. Patrick’s Day?  To find out what some of the true Irish food traditions are, join Chef Lee Baker in this hands on Kids in The Kitchen Irish Cooking Adventure.  Your child will make two savory Irish dishes and a fun non-traditional festive dessert.  Chef Lee will teach your child how to make a traditional shepherd’s pie filled with savory beef, colorful vegetables and topped with creamy mashed potatoes in addition to a loaf of Irish soda bread.  Your child will end the class with a fun treat sure to delight everyone!

Teens at Whisk – Ringing in the New Year – Germany – Daily

Designed for teens ages 13-18.

What better way to ring in the New Year than to celebrate in different countries without needing a passport!  Every country has their own way of ringing in the New Year and many of the traditions revolve around foods that are eaten to bring good luck, prosperity and longevity throughout the coming year.  In this hands-on, 1-day class , Chef Lee Baker will lead your teen through both savory and sweet dishes that might become traditions in your family.  Each day they will sample their creations in class and bring the rest home for all to enjoy.

Kids in the Kitchen – Holiday Cookies

This class is designed for kids ages 8-12.

Spend a fun afternoon getting into the holiday spirit, plus bring home a variety of Holiday Cookies to share. Pastry Chef Lee Baker, will teach your kids how to make her favorite holiday cookie recipes. First, we’ll whip up a couple of varieties of cookie dough, learning about measuring for consistency, mixing processes and best ingredients to use. Afterwards, we frost and decorate our sugar cookies in holiday style. We will work on rolling, baking and cooling techniques to get foolproof results. Hand selected, kid tested favorites are on the menu for this class. At Whisk, we make learning fun while building confidence and pride in kids. You will sample your cookies in class and take the rest home to share.
