Making your own pasta is quick and easy and after this hands-on class with Chef Jen Tarantino Reyes, you’ll think nothing of mixing up a batch for a weeknight supper. Add essential recipes for sauces made with fresh herbs and seasonal produce and you’ll have a go-to recipe repertoire. You’ll start with just flour and eggs, creating your own pasta dough that you will turn into one stuffed pasta and one cut pasta to serve along with two unique sauces!

In this hands-on class, you will make:

  • Fresh Handmade Pasta Dough
  • Ravioli with a Lemon Herbed Ricotta Filling in a Tomato Sauce
  • Fresh Cut Tagliatelle Pasta with Wild Mushroom Sauce

Italian Kitchen Pasta Dinner

This classic Italian dinner menu is the perfect meal to serve any day for a special family dinner. In this class, restaurant secrets will be revealed so that pulling off the sophisticated sauces and finishing techniques can easily be duplicated at home. Chef Barbara Sowatsky will teach you to make, roll and cut pasta dough into beautiful fresh pappardelle pasta. You will learn to pull together sophisticated pan reduction with ease, elegance and little cleanup.

Meet Chef Bonnie:

Chef Bonnie McPike is the owner of Bonnie Rae Catering and has over a decade of experience as a private chef, caterer and event manager. Her passion for cooking has led her to work in kitchens all over the world from Manhattan’s Michelin-starred to McLaren Vale, Australia and now Seattle. Her work in Seattle is focused on helping CEOs, professional athletes and busy families reach their health and wellness goals through healthy eating and hands-on coaching. She also has a passion for wine and is a certified sommelier through the Sommelier Society of America.

If you’re a fan of potato gnocchi, let us introduce you to its cousin – ricotta gnocchi (No potatoes required!) Lighter and slightly chewy, ricotta gnocchi is a snap to make and doesn’t compromise our love for the delicious, pillowy nuggets with which we are familiar. Chef Jen Tarantino Reyes will instruct you how to prepare perfect gnocchi and teach you different rolling techniques (the way her grandmother and mother taught her). The Italian Kitchen – The Pizza Workshop

Everyone loves pizza and some of the best can be made at home. Stretch some pizza dough and your imagination as Italian Expert, Iole Aguero Limonciello, guides you through each step of making amazing pizzas, starting with an easy, but authentic, pizza dough.  In this hands-on class, you will learn how to shape dough into a round, the best material on which to cook your pizza and the ideal temperature to get a puffy, golden crust and perfectly melted cheese on top. You will not only take away the know-how to recreate these tasty pies, but the dough and recipes, too.  You’ll be greeted with Rosemary Focaccia and then get your hands busy making the dough for 3 different pizzas: 

Margherita Pizza

Roasted Vegetable Pizza with Eggplant, Zucchini, Onions, Red Peppers, Mushrooms, Artichokes, Kalamata Olives, Mama Lill’s and Goat Cheese (A surprise favorite!)

Wild Mushroom, Sage, Madeira Sauce over crispy brown butter fried gnocchi

Jennifer Tarantino Reyes you’ll think nothing of mixing up a batch for a weeknight supper..You’ll start with just flour and eggs, creating your own pasta dough that you will then cut and shape into different sizes to make Tagliatelle and Ravioli, add to that 2 different sauces that you’ll surely add to your repertoire.  In this class you will make it, eat it, make it, eat it….come hungry!

The Italian Kitchen – 3 Course Risotto DInner

Learn a new approach to cooking time consuming Risotto,  in this hands on class with our professional Chef James. He will share his restaurant tips and tricks to create the most scrumptious late summer risotto featuring PNW scallops and farmers market corn. Starting with a beautiful salad and finishing with summers best that highlights Mountain Huckleberries. You’ll use your newfound cooking skills on everything you make. In this class, we will make:

Grilled Pear, Radicchio Salad – Candied Walnuts, Watercress, Honey Yogurt Vinaigrette

Sweet Corn Risotto – Seared Scallop, Parmigiano, Shaved Zucchini, Cherry Tomatoes

Vanilla Panna Cotta with Mountain Huckleberries

About Chef James

James has lent his creative touch to many restaurants in his native Seattle, as well as San Francisco. In San Francisco he worked several positions at Jardinière and then went on to take the sous chef position at the two Michelin-starred seafood restaurant, Aqua. In Seattle, he worked with Jason Wilson at Crush. He then served as chef de cuisine at Restaurant Zoë and executive chef at Re:public and Single Shot. In 2014 he was presented a Rising Star Chef award by Seattle Met Magazine. James is now chef owner of Lovely Night Catering.
