Kids in the Kitchen – Around the World

This camp is designed for kids ages 8 to 12 years old.

MONDAY, August 8th THROUGH FRIDAY, August 12th
Class runs 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Everyday

In this 5-day hands-on cooking series, Chef Drew Flanders will inspire your child to experience foods from around the globe. We will discuss, cook and taste famous foods from around the world, while learning a bit about geography, and exploring the different ingredients and flavor profiles.  Each day, we will create delicious recipes from the “Region of the Day” as our skilled culinary team assists, as you practice knife skills and become more familiar with everyday kitchen equipment. Pack your food passport and experience a different destination every day!

Monday – Middle East
Chicken Kabobs, Hummus with Grilled Flatbread and Veggies

Tuesday – Italy
Handmade Pasta with fresh Tomato Sauce and a Caesar Salad with Homemade Croutons

Wednesday – Vietnam
Pork (or Tofu) Banh Mi, Lettuce Wraps with Shrimp

Thursday – Mexico
Chicken and Black Bean Quesadillas, Grilled Corn Salad

Friday – Argentina
Grilled Steak with Chimichurri, Grilled Veggies and Potatoes

  • All classes are taught by a Culinary Professional, with 2 adult assistants.
  • No prior experience required, just an interest to learn.
  • Please tie long hair back, wear closed toed shoes and a mask.

Teens at Whisk – Passport to the Far East

This 5-day camp is designed for teens, ages 13 and up.

MONDAY, August 8th – FRIDAY August 12th
From 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Everyday

Join this engaging teen cooking series and take a trip across the Pacific into the Far East. Learn about five countries and the flavors that make each region unique. In this hands-on session, Chef Thanh Tang will teach you about the Asian ingredients that make up these countries’ flavor profiles, while expanding your palate and knowledge. Each day will include a bit of geography, history and culture. Take your taste buds on this amazing trip!

Kids in the Kitchen – Great Cities of Europe

This 5-day camp is designed for kids ages 8 to 12.

MONDAY, July 11th to FRIDAY, July 15th

From 10:00 AM TO 12:00 PM, Everyday

In this week-long camp, Chef Lee Baker will inspire your child to experience foods from some of the greatest cities in Europe.  We will learn a bit about each city, explore the different ingredients and flavor profiles that make each city distinct and cook up delicious recipes from the “City of the Day.”  Our skilled culinary team will assist each day as your child practices knife skills and becomes familiar with everyday kitchen equipment.  Pack your food passport and experience a different destination city daily.

Monday: Paris
On our trip to Paris, we will make several dishes that are synonymous with the French: Quiche Lorraine, Green Salad with French Dressing and Madeleines.

Tuesday: Berlin
Next we’ll take a trip to Germany, making three very traditional German dishes: Cheesy Spaetzle, Chicken Schnitzel and Apple Strudel.

Wednesday: Bologna
Off to Italy to learn the art of pasta making: Homemade Linguine with Bolognese Sauce and Lemon Ricotta Cakes

Thursday: Madrid
We head to Spain, to the capital city of Madrid, for: Beef Empanadas, Spanish Potato, Onion & Egg Tortilla, Pan con Tomate (tomato-rubbed garlic bread) and Mock Sangria.

Friday: London
Our last stop is London for some traditional English foods:  Fish and Chips, Coleslaw and Hobnob Cookies (made with both rolled oats & jumbo oats).

The Thai Kitchen – Inspired by POK POK

POK POK is the sound a wooden pestle makes when it strikes a clay mortar. Pok Pok is also a cookbook and guide to bold, authentic Thai cooking from Andy Ricker, the past chef and owner of the wildly popular and widely lauded Pok Pok Portland restaurants.  And now, it is the inspiration for this popular class, taught by Chef Barbara Sowatsky.

In this hands-on class you will make:

Teens at Whisk – Party into the New Year

Tis the season! After a long testing year everyone deserves a little celebration to decompress….a party without food is just a meeting. Luckly, we’ve got you covered! In this three-day camp with Chef Thanh Tang, students with cook and bake their way through party menus that are designed to be fun, festive, and flavorful. Skills taught include chopping, roasting, frying, creaming, piping, and dough handling. Students will sample their creations in class and take the rest home to party it up!

   Classes are designed for ages 13 and above, vaccinations required
