Teens at Whisk After School – Fend for Yourself – Pound of Pizza Dough

Classes are designed for students 13 years old and up!

In the Fend for Your Self series of classes with Chef Barbara Sowatsky, they are technique-driven classes designed to teach you to feed yourself, family or roommates too.  Depending on the class you’ll  learn sauces basics, knife skills along with how to adapt master recipes to produce nourishing meals that are uniquely your own.  Based on five ingredient categories – eggs, ground meats, pizza dough, pasta and chicken – we’ll pass along invaluable tips on shopping, food storage and using leftovers. Every day we will create multiple recipes using the “Ingredient of the Day”.  Each class will provide essential skills to feed yourself real food for less than the price of a take-out pizza!

 Take a Pound of Pizza Dough …

Learn how easy it is to make your own great tasting pizzas for much less than take out or frozen.  We’ll start with the dough, then make a basic Marinara for Pizza Sauce, and then the rest is up to you to design your own pizza and calzones.

  • No prior cooking experience is required, just an interest to learn.
  • For safety reasons, please tie long hair back and wear closed toed shoes.
