Kids in the Kitchen – Exploring Pastry Dough: Pies & Tarts

This 5-day camp is designed for kids 8-12 years old.

      MONDAY, August 2nd to FRIDAY, August 6th

FROM 10 AM -12 PM

Come join Chef Lee Baker to learn the art of pies and tarts. Chef Lee will lead you through the process of making 4 different doughs that will be used in 8 recipes here in class and have applications for many other uses. Oh, my! So many goodies to taste!

Monday

1 – Flaky Dough (French Pâte Brisée)

2 – Sweet Dough (French Pâté Sucrée)

3 – Cookie Dough (French Pâte Sabée)

4 – Chocolate Dough

 Tuesday – Flaky Dough Desserts

Summer Berry Galettes, Individual Streusel-Topped Apple Pie

Wednesday – Sweet Dough Desserts 

Cherry Buttermilk Custard Tartlet, Lemon Meringue Tartlet

 Thursday – Cookie Dough Desserts

Fresh Fruit and Pastry Cream Tartlet, Chocolate Truffle Tartlet

Friday – Savory Dishes

Chicken Pot Pie, 3-Cheese Tomato and Basil Tartlet

 

  • All classes are taught by a Culinary Professional, with 2 assistants.
  • No prior cooking experience is required, just an interest to learn.
  • For safety reasons, please tie long hair back and wear closed-toed shoes.
  • Students will be working with flour, butter and eggs and so we cannot accommodate students with allergies to working with gluten, dairy or eggs.
