Celebrate Cinco de Mayo

Let the celebration begin! Cinco de Mayo commentates the date of the Mexican Army’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.  A relatively minor holiday in Mexico, in the United States Cinco de Mayo has evolved into a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage were unique dishes are prepared.

Please join Edna Kainz as she introduces you to the explosive flavors of Mexico with “Chicharron” (pork belly) as the new star ingredient.  Edna Kainz heritage is a cultural fusion: growing up with an Austrian father and Italian/Spanish mother in Mexico City, she developed a natural passion for these cultures and cuisines. Color, explosion of flavors and the immense variety makes Mexican food her favorite!  The experience of gathering simple, fresh ingredients and sharing unforgettable meals just feeds her soul. For her, food is magical and she believe food has the power to transform, break barriers and bring people together.

Edna will show you how to make the green sauce and show hot to toast Mexican Chillies to make Salsa de Chile Morita
